Dino Talk Feb. 9-14 2002: A Dinosaur Forum

Just to let you people know, I'll be on vacation for the next week, so don't expect any posts for a little while!
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

The Amniota consists of the Sinapsida, the Diapsida, and the Anapsida.
So let me get this strait: Anapsida consists of Turtles, Tortoises, and various exctinct species. The Sinapsida consists of Mammal and "mammal-like reptiles". And the Diapsida consists of the Archosauria and other groups. And the Archosauria consists of the Ornithosuchia and the "Pseudosuchia" (Which is a philosophical parradox! I mean, having the Crocodylomorpha in a group thats name means "false crocodile"!)

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

it's okay moocher. I forgive you.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

Oh; right Joe Bob. The 11th. I just said on your message "finally 11, Feb. 12th." So I thought that you posted on your B-Day.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

"No, moocher was pirating Gianna's name and I only posted that last message to let the real Gianna know what was going on. JC"

Oh, right. Well; it's up to Gianna to forgive you Moocher.

I recommend anyone really interested in Dinosaurs to become a site supporter here. I've never seen a more easily accepting community.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

""It is the Mecca for web surfing dinosaur fans."
Yeah, and Dinodata too."

Well, yes, but I find the Dinosauricon just a little bit easier to navigate and get my information though.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

""we are used to making estimates from isolated bones thanks especially to sauropods"
Yeah, and Sauroposeidon is a good example on this: by looking at the length of the isolated neck vertebrae, we were able to deduct that Sauroposeidon had the longest neck."

Yeah. I think that's very impressive.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

"i'm very sorry for using ur name Gianna.
I was very desperate for my answers and did not want to pay to be a supporter(even though this site has helped me a lot)."

Welcome in. Please post often: it's a very usual scenario now; someone posts, we think there's a new person in town; and they never post again (DinoSol is just one example.) It's sad. We're all an easy going bunch so no one really minds now I guess.

"Anyway Happy Valentines' Day to all of u!!!!!!!"

Why; thank you. The very same to you.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 14, 2002

Actually, my birthday was on the 11th... Thanks anyway.
from Joe Bob B., age 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; February 13, 2002

Hey! I think we have a new participant!
Hello, moocher, I'm sure everyone is glad to have you here.
What's your favorite dinosaur. If you have any questions, or want to talk about something, this is the place to be.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002
No, moocher was pirating Gianna's name (and not a site supporter); I only posted that last message to let the real Gianna know what was going on. JC

Please stop using my name! I will start putting my adress for a while until this dies down.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002

JC; who is I. MacPenn?

Do you know them? It's an interesting story. I check if there's anything new every day.

I don't mean to be nosy but I am inquisitive.
from da masta, age 14, ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002
Mac is a very private person. There should probably be a new bunch of chapters coming soon - it's about time. JC

"was the Teinurosaurus carnivourus and is there any way to tell how big it was?"

Well; the experts think that it was a theropod. It was certainly not an ornithischian; ornithischians and saurischians have different vertebrae. And we can make rough size estimates from the vertebrae too; we are used to making estimates from isolated bones thanks especially to sauropods.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002

"STOP IMPERSONATING ME!!!

What the heck is a Teinurosaurus? Whoever used my name please use your own name unless you have the same name as I do.

da masta, did you know it wasn't me? I never put "u" instead of "you".

So what is a Teinurosaurus(sp?)anyway?"

Gianna, you don't post many messages a day so I highly recommend that you use JC's advice and put your Email adress every time you post.

And yes; a silly mistake by me from my point of view. You never use "u."

I can tell you with certainty that that was the same person who wanted info on archeopteryx. Note that she puts "Thanx" with an "X" at the end, both in the archeopteryx posts and the teinurosaurus posts.

If that is a she, which is likely, because note that out of the six of us she chose the only girl. Now; I don't know much about teinurosaurus, Tim said it all. Check the Dinosauricon; I always do. It is the Mecca for web surfing dinosaur fans.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002

"Could someone post? And Da Masta, please continue your DWF story! I'll write another story if you continue yours! Please? *is dragged away by the men in funny white coats*
from Joe Bob B., age Finally 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; February 12, 2002"

You mean paediatric psychiatrists? I am continuing, slowly but surely. I need research to make it good, and the FBI and Police Departments don't reveal much in their websites. I've seen lots of gun sites though. It'll be very long by the way; and I need to be in a motivated mood to write. Happy birthday Joe Bob! So it is on the twelfth.
from da masta, age 14, ?, ?, ?; February 13, 2002

"So what is a Teinurosaurus(sp?)anyway?"''
Read my earlier post, if you want, or you could just check the Dinosauricon genus index, like da masta suggested.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 12, 2002

Jesus, where IS everyone?!?

Gianna; check the Dinosauricon Genus Index, I bet that Teinurosaurus will be there.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 12, 2002

Teinurosaurus??
That's quite an obscure dinosaur indeed. In fact, it's a nomen dubium.
The only materiel is some vertebrae which lost during WW2. It's supposed to be some sort of Therapod, but I don't think we can be sure. I don't know for sure when it was described, but it was probably in between 1900 and 1940.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 11, 2002

You guys don't have any info on teinurosaurus.
Could u get some??

Thanx

I never watch the Olympics; I never will, and they really bore me; but you're probably right. Argh! There's nothing more boring for me than professional sport. Although I play tennis.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; February 11, 2002

1)When and by who was D.torosus described
*RUSSEL IN 1970*
