February 26, 2004 Great site. I needed to use this to study for my numbers in Spanish. So thanks. It's really a great help.

February 19, 2004 Though this is a very good resource for Portuguese information, I don't understand why the main page and some other pages have the flag for Brazil is the primary. The Portuguese language originated in Portugal and then Brazil. Therefore, the Portuguese flag (from Portugal)should be shown as the primary flag. Any language learning tapes that you buy will always have the brazilian version of the language and it is incorrect. The language did not originate there. The brazilian portuguese has other language influences and is different in pronunciation.
M, Elizabeth, NJ, USA
It is for the same reason that our English dictionary is in American English and not in British English, even though that is where the English language originated. Should all English language resources be in British English? Are those that are in American English "incorrect"? Our dictionary features Brazilian Portuguese, and showing the Brazilian flag alerts people to that fact. The reason that we (and most language resources) feature Brazilian Portuguese is that the overwhelming majority (about 90 percent) of all Portuguese-speakers are from Brazil, not Portugal; roughly 150 million people live in Brazil, only about 10 million are from Portugal, and a few million others are in Africa and other places (speaking other varieties of the language).

February 15, 2004 I love getting help for my kids through this site. I also love that you can learn different languages. This is helpful since we travel to Mexico once a year.
