The Snow Goose is a migratory bird from North America. A strong flier, this goose breeds in the Arctic tundra, then migrates south to winter in southwestern British Columbia and the USA. Snow geese will often fly in a U-shaped flock.

Anatomy: The Snow Goose has two forms (morphs), a common white form (illustrated above) and a rarer blue form. The white form is all white except for black wing tips. The blue form has a white head and upper neck with a dark blue-gray body and lower neck. The Snow Goose ranges from 25 to 30 inches (63 to 76 cm) long. Immature Snow Geese are dirty-white or brownish.

Diet: The Snow Goose eats aquatic plants and grains.

Eggs and Nests: The Snow Goose's nest is a simple depression in the ground that is lined with grass and down (feathers). Females lay 4-7 creamy white eggs in each clutch (a set of eggs laid at one time).
