"DOESN'T FOSSILIZE VERY WELL"
Yes, that's what I meant.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 31, 2002

That's right. They probably couldn't swim. But you do realize I said
"One theory"
Sauropods did have the Pleurocoels but still, they probably were quite slow!

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 31, 2002

"I agree with the idea of Ceratopsians being gregarious, but now what about the frill? There's been a big piece of a Triceratops frill in a T-Rex corpolite, and (supposedly) there's been a Triceratops skull with a huge bight taken out of it. The tyrannosaur that did this probably only bt the frill to defend itself against the Triceratops' horns, though. But if its enemies(most likely T-rex) could bight through its frill, than maybe the frill wasn't for protection, it was for display.
*YES, TO DISPLAY HOW BIG AND DANGEROUS IT WAS TO T - REX! AND OTHER TRIKES!*

Well, since skin doesn't fossilize *"DOESN'T FOSSILIZE VERY WELL," YOU MEAN.* we probably cant tell whether or not it di have a trunk. But that seems possible. One theory as to why the nostrils were on the top of the head is that they may have used them as snorkels while they spent most of their time in the water, like Hippos, because they were so clumsy and slow on land.*UH, TIM, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE PAST 20 YEARS? I AM 100% CERTAIN THAT YOU KNOW THAT THE WATER PRESSURE WOULD CRUSH THEIR LUNGS. DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN DIVERS SURFACE THEY BREATHE OUT, OUT, OUT. BECAUSE THE PRESSURE DECREASES AND THE PRESSURE ON THEIR LUNGS FROM INSIDE PROPORTIONALLY INCREASES. SO IF THEY WHERE TO BREATHE IN OR HOLD THEIR BREATH UPON GOING UP, THEIR LUNGS WOULD EXPLODE. AND SAUROPODS WHEREN'T THAT CLUMSY! DIPLODOCUS ONLY WEIGHED AS MUCH AS TWO ELEPHANTS, AND WAS MUCH STRONGER AND HAD LONGER LEGS! AND WHAT ABOUT PLEUROCOELS IN THEIR VERTEBRAE?!?*"
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 30, 2002

"ummm.....Who thinks some sauropods had a trunk? And if you think they didn't why do you think they had nostrials high on their head?"

I don't think that they had a trunk. I think maybe a tapir - like snout? To help moisten and filter the air they breathe? And a good sense of smell...
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 30, 2002

My newest list:
1)T-rex-always has been always will.
2)Chirostenotes pergracilis-don't ask.
3)Ankylosaurus-the dinosaur that is the best defended in my opinion
4)Beipiaosaurus-a very interesting dinosaur
5)Sauroposeidon-I don't know!
6)Carcharodontosaurus-I just think it's interesting
7)Suchomimus-Very neat looking
8)Stygimoloch- What a decorated skull!
9)Citipati- my favorite dinosaur that was named in 2001
10)Velociraptor-hmm... can't think of a good reason
11)Every other dinosaur!

"How would they know her e-mail address? JC"

Check DinoTalk, Gianna's first message after the change. Maybe I'm wrong, but it pays to be wary...
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 30, 2002
I can't find it anywhere online. I even did a search for it. What page exactly did you see it on? Also, if you ever do see an e-mail address online, please let me know immediately, so I can take it off. JC

"Tom G, I thought you liked Utahraptor and Allosaurus."

Utahraptor and Allosaurus still are my favourite dinoaurs but I thought I should vote for some different dinosaurs I like. And Spinosaurus gets picked on so much.
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

?

Tom G, I thought you liked Utahraptor and Allosaurus.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 29, 2002

"Stregosaurus, because he is looking good and I like his "collar"

Uh... what collar? Are you talking about dermal oscicles, the armour plating in it's skin? It's certainly not stego's most striking feature, especially since it has a cool spiked tail and rows of bony plates on it's back, not to mention that you can't even see the dermal oscicles as they're embedded deep beneath stego's skin.

"Potential candidate for a new topic: defenses of a Triceratops!"

Hmm... I think that ceratopsians where gregarious, I will give an excerpt from THE DINOSAURIA to show you the main reasons why I should think that:

"The development of frills and horns in neoceratopsians and the development of sexual dimorphism (Kurzanov 1972; Dodson 1976; Lehman in press) suggests that neoceratopsians were gregarious, social animals. Their remains are often associated in monotypic bone beds (Currie 1981, 1987b; Currie and Dodson 1984; Lehman 1989), which also suggests herding."

So, a herd of triceratops. A tyrannosaur approaches, but because there is little cover on the plains he gets spotted! The triceratops get into a defensive circle with the young in the middle, and the T. Rex is faced with a wall of bright bony frills and long sharp horns. Well, he'll be damned if he tries to charge THAT, so he has to give up and find other prey.

Just a typical maastrichtian scene.

"That's what I told Gianna. Anyone who wants me to verify that each message is from them (and not a forgery) should met me know individually. After they tell me, I will not post any messages from their name that does not have the correct e-mail address. (Of course, then I wouldn't have been able to post this message you wrote.) JC"

No, JC my point is that anyone could look at Gianna's E-m@il, and use it to post messages! They'd just put the E-m@il they found in the correct slot and you'd think that it was Gianna!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 28, 2002

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 26, 2002"

"We REALLY NEED TO HAVE A TOPIC."

You are all right, but I could never think of a topic... Tom G?

I dunno, but you kept the science forum alive for a few days with your topic about hadrosaurs swimming!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"Since the change, there aren't any hardcore fans of only one dinosaur left, so intelligent discussions are more popular now. To prove my point, this is a vote for Ankylosaurus."

I agree 100%! Goodbye swarm!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

"How about the fact that I think someone is impersonating me(look on Dinotalk-the Archaeopteryx message)?
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 26, 2002
Gianna - if you'd like, I could upload only the posts from you that include your correct e-mail address (that would stop any impostor). Let me know if you want me to start doing that. JC"

Hmm... I think I remember that Gianna's first message after you need to be supporter to post has the E-M@il address in the State/province/country slot. I think that goes for a few people including me actually. Maybe you've taken care of that, but I just thought that this would have to be brought to your attention JC.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 27, 2002

I meant real hardcore pro T - Rex fans, which this site used to have no shortage of, and you know that Tim.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 22, 2002

Hey! I'm a rex fan! ;)
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 21, 2002

I'm not saying that you can't do simple sums (naturally, you actually did the dino logic puzzles, etc.) don't understand it the wrong way. It just escaped your attention because nobody voted for avipes for a long time... maybe I ought to vote for avipes too... poor fellow...
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 21, 2002

Uh, JC, just a weeny thing that I want to bring to your attention. For Avipes, there are two votes, then one vote. And that makes three votes. I just wanted to help.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 21, 2002
Thanks - I've fixed it. JC

I think Deinonychus is quite cool. The Rex fans give the poor animal a real hard time, too.

So I think I'll add deinonychus a vote and make it 180 JC.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 21, 2002

My friend says this vote's for deinonychus, this is one.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 20, 2002

from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 16, 2002
